On 2 July 2024, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) issued the second batch of typical cases in its special action "qinglang optimising the online business environment by rectifying infringement information". In particular, the initiative targets accounts that spread false information and seek illegal profits. Notably, several accounts have been closed for various violations. First, accounts such as "Wang Wukong Talks About Cars" were closed for spreading false information and damaging the reputation of new energy vehicles and certain car companies. Secondly, the "Leer Moss" used negative information to coerce businesses into commercial cooperation agreements. These accounts, along with related ones, have been closed, and the account holders blacklisted. In addition, accounts such as "Shanxi Business Club" published sensationalist and negative articles to defame businesses. These accounts have also been closed, and the account holders blacklisted. Another case involved the accounts of "International Energy Network," which published false information to disrupt business operations. These accounts have been muted, and their profit-making privileges suspended, with related criminal activities handed over to public security. Lastly, accounts such as "Run Talks Run Speaks" spread rumours to defame companies and entrepreneurs. These accounts have been closed as well. This series of actions aims to create a more transparent and fair online business environment by holding accountable those who spread harmful and false information.
