Implemented Decree No. 27/2018/ND-CP including content moderation regulation

On 15 April 2018, the Decree No. 27/2018/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 72/2013/ND-CP entered into force. The Decree stipulates that aggregated information websites and social networks are required to implement a public information management process. This mechanism is designed to verify the accuracy of information before and after its publication. Furthermore, the decree stipulates the implementation of a mechanism to control the original source and the adoption of coordination mechanisms, with the objective of removing content that violates the prohibited acts set forth in Decree 72 within a period of 3 hours following its detection.
