On 27 June 2024, the Singapore Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) issued a statement on the Singapore-China Digital Policy Dialogue (DPD) aimed to strengthen cooperation in trusted commercial data flows and AI governance. In particular, the DPD aims to promote common baseline standards and knowledge exchange on cross-border data-sharing mechanisms and facilitate mutual learning and understanding of AI governance frameworks among private sectors and research institutions. Moreover, the DPD will enhance technical exchanges and cooperation on the digital economy between government agencies, universities, research institutes, and businesses in both countries. The DPD was held in Beijing, co-chaired by Singapore's Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information, Tan Kiat How, and China's Head of National Data Administration, Liu Liehong.
