TSA announces first Security Directive with cybersecurity measures for critical pipeline operators

On 27 May 2021, the US Department of Homeland Security's Transport Security Administration (TSA) has announced a Security Directive with cybersecurity requirements for critical pipeline operators. Although the full Directive has not been made available to the public, according to the official press release, it requires pipeline operators to relay cybersecurity incidents to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), to designate a Cybersecurity Coordinator that is available 24/7 and to review and report their current cybersecurity practices to TSA and CISA within a 30-day period.
