Turkiye: Introduced Artificial Intelligence Law including artificial intelligence authority governance

On 24 June 2024, the Artificial Intelligence Law (2/2234), including design requirements, was introduced in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. The Law seeks to establish a comprehensive legal framework covering the development and use of artificial intelligence technologies by laying out general principles and specific obligations. The Law establishes the basic principles of security, transparency, fairness, accountability, and privacy, which developers are required to follow and implement into the development process for AI systems. Developers of AI systems are further required to carry out risk assessments.
