On 24 June 2024, the Artificial Intelligence Law (2/2234), including business registration requirements, was introduced in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. The Law seeks to establish a comprehensive legal framework covering the development and use of artificial intelligence technologies by laying out general principles and specific obligations. Under the Law's regulatory framework, certain AI systems, such as autonomous vehicles, medical diagnostic systems, and AI applications used in the justice system, would be classified as high-risk and require further precautions. Such high-risk AI systems would be required to undergo a conformity assessment and be registered with the relevant supervisory authority.
