European Union: Published European Commission proposal for the signing of the AI Convention

On 26 June 2024, the European Commission published a proposal for a Council Decision on the signing, on behalf of the European Union, of the Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence, Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law (AI Convention). The objective of the proposal is to launch the process for the signature of the AI Convention by proposing to the Council to adopt a decision to authorise the Union to sign the Convention.
