On 11 December 2025, the Singapore Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI)’s order declaring Kenneth Jeyaretnam's website, The Ricebowl Singapore (TRS), and his social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn as "declared online locations" (DOLs) under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act 2019 (POFMA), ceased to have effect. The declaration had been made due to multiple falsehoods communicated on these platforms. In the preceding six months, Mr. Jeyaretnam had made false claims about government policies and processes, leading to the issuance of five POFMA Correction Directions. The declaration had remained in effect for two years, until 11 December 2025. During this period, Mr. Jeyaretnam's TRS website and his social media pages had to display a notice warning visitors about their history of spreading misinformation. Although these platforms could continue operating, they were prohibited from generating financial benefits from their activities. Various restrictions were placed on advertising and financial support to prevent the communication of falsehoods. Service providers and digital advertising intermediaries had to take measures to prevent paid content on these DOLs from being communicated in Singapore. Additionally, individuals and companies were prohibited from providing financial support to these DOLs if it could facilitate the spread of falsehoods.
