Adopted Minister for Legal Protection regulation on gaming limits and more conscious gaming behaviour

On 12 June 2024, the Minister for Legal Protection adopted the regulation on gaming limits and more conscious gaming behaviour. The regulation aims to establish obligations for online gambling providers in order to raise players' awareness of their gaming behaviour and increase protection against gambling risks. In particular, the providers are mandated to implement these measures by the specified date, including making players aware of the risks associated with their playing behaviour and the setting of deposit limits. Specifically, if a player desires to set a deposit limit exceeding EUR 350 per month or EUR 150 for young adults up to 24 years, direct contact with the provider is required. During this interaction, staff trained in addiction prevention must discuss the risks and support options available. Additional protections include ensuring players set limits in a neutral environment, mandatory feedback on playing behaviour, and immediate logout upon reaching time limits.
