China: Issued Measures for Enabling Various Industries with Artificial Intelligence in Guangdong Province

On 6 June 2024, the General Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued an outline for the thorough implementation of Several Measures for Enabling Various Industries with Artificial Intelligence in Guangdong Province. The initiative aims to accelerate the high-quality development of AI industries across various sectors. The measures include the establishment of an AI chip ecosystem, the development of intelligent perception industrial systems, and the enhancement of AI software. Additionally, the outline seeks to broaden the application scope of intelligent software, construct a systematic algorithm industry matrix, and accelerate the supply of algorithm products. By 2027, the province aims to significantly enhance its computing power, solidify its AI industrial base, and create over 100 smart terminal products across eight categories.
