Issued Amsterdam Court of Appeal ruling admitting Privacy Collective’s claims against Oracle and Salesforce

On 18 June 2024, the Amsterdam Court of Appeal ruled in favour of The Privacy Collective (TPC), allowing it to proceed with its claims against Oracle and Salesforce for allegedly collecting personal data from around 10 million internet users in the Netherlands without proper consent. The Court found that TPC, which seeks orders, prohibitions, declaratory judgments, and compensation of EUR 500 per user, now meets the special legal requirements for representativeness and governance, overturning a previous decision. While the court has not yet addressed the validity of the accusations, it has scheduled a new hearing to examine the case further.
