Adopted G7 Apulia Declaration including measures regarding artificial intelligence, science, technology, and innovation

On 14 June 2024, the Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) adopted a declaration following the meeting from Apulia, which includes measures and commitments regarding artificial intelligence (AI), science, technology, and innovation to enhance interoperability amongst their AI governance approaches. The declaration aims to promote transparency and accountability in AI development and deployment and includes commitments from the parties to improve coordination around the evolution of governance and regulatory frameworks, sharing best practices, and enhancing regular consultations. The parties also committed to deepening coordination between respective institutes and offices focused on AI to work towards a shared understanding of risk management and advance international standards for AI.
