On 14 June 2024, the Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) adopted a declaration following the meeting from Apulia, which includes measures and commitments regarding worker protection regulation in the context of artificial intelligence (AI). The declaration outlines an action plan to ensure AI enables increased productivity, quality jobs, and decent work, empowers workers, promotes inclusiveness and equal opportunities, and enhances active labour market policies. The parties agreed to adopt actions to leverage the potential of AI to enable decent work and workers’ rights, including adequate reskilling and upskilling while addressing potential challenges and risks to labour markets.
