Adopted Attorney General Designation of Switzerland as "qualifying state" for the redress mechanism under Executive Order 14086

On 7 June 2024, the US Attorney General designated Switzerland as a "qualifying state" for the redress mechanism pursuant to Executive Order 14086. The designation as a "qualifying state" applies on the date the anticipated amendment to Annex 1 to the Swiss Data Protection Ordinance enters into force. The amendment is foreseen to permit the transfer of personal information for commercial purposes between the territory of Switzerland and the territory of the United States.
