Issued Communications Commission ruling following investigation into Google's compliance with location information protection laws

On 12 June 2024, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) concluded its investigation into Google Korea, identifying non-compliance with the Location Information Act. Google Korea was penalised explicitly for failing to disclose its location information handling policy. Consequently, Google Korea received a penalty of KRW 3 million.
