Republic of Korea: Closed consultation on Ministry of Science and ICT inquiry into AI regulation

On 31 July 2024, the Ministry of Science and ICT in the Republic of Korea (MSIT) closes the consultation on artificial intelligence (AI) regulation. The inquiry, as part of the broader "New Digital Order Establishment Plan", aims to gather information to ensure the development of safe and trustworthy artificial intelligence. The consultation will feature a public vote and a policy idea contest hosted on the digital public forum. In particular, the consultation intends to collect data on the opportunities and threats posed by AI technology, explore regulatory measures for AI, and collect innovative ideas from the public to inform future policy-making.
