China: Announced Mofcom draft rules on cross-border e-commerce exports and overseas warehouse construction

On 11 June 2024, the Ministry of Commerce (Mofcom), together with nine other departments, announced draft rules on cross-border e-commerce exports and overseas warehouse construction. The rules aim to promote and regulate the orderly and secure flow of cross-border data, ensuring compliance with domestic and international laws. The initiative is part of a broader framework to expand cross-border e-commerce exports, optimise the layout of overseas warehouses, and accelerate the development of new trade formats and models.
