Implemented Law on Cybersecurity (No. 24/2018/QH14) including data protection authority governance

On 1 January 2019, the Law on Cybersecurity (No. 24/2018/QH14), which includes the establishment of the Cybersecurity Task Force (CTF), entered into force. The CTF is overseen by the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Government Cipher Committee. The CTF is responsible for auditing the cybersecurity status and systems in place, and for preventing and combating conduct in cyberspace. Furthermore, the CTF is responsible for coordinating with relevant organisations to investigate cyberattacks, collect evidence, and block malicious information. In addition, the CTF is tasked with taking action to prevent, discover, and address online activities that harm, intrude upon, or violate the rights of children.
