China: Adopted SAMR guiding opinions on strengthening party building work among online delivery workers

On 11 June 2024, the Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) adopted the guiding opinions on strengthening party-building work among online delivery workers. The guiding opinions aim to fully implement the decision to strengthen all employment forms and groups within China. The guiding opinions include the emphasis on adhering to the correct political direction, the establishment and improvement of the party-building work system and increased innovation in relation to party organisation and work coverage. Further, the guiding opinions recommend establishing mechanisms to address the demands and challenges faced by online delivery workers, such as rights protection and industry governance.
