Description

Introduced Bill amending Law on Regulating Publications Made on the Internet including user identification requirement

On 30 May 2024, the Bill amending Law on Regulating Publications Made on the Internet and Combating Crimes Committed Through These Publications was introduced to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The Bill would require social network providers operating in Turkey to ensure that all user accounts are linked to a mobile phone number and delete fake accounts. Additionally, social network providers must implement a "timer" application for users to display the total time spent on the platform and a countdown feature that users can set to limit their time on the content.
