India: Opened consultation on draft Amendments to Competition Commission of India (General) Regulations

On 6 June 2024, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) opened a public consultation on the Draft Amendments to the Competition Commission of India (General) Regulations until 8 July 2024. The amendments aim to strengthen regulatory oversight and ensure compliance with CCI imposed measures. In particular, the amended regulations give the CCI the power to appoint agencies to assist in the implementation and monitoring of its orders and would remove the previous 90-day deadline for the CCI to issue a final order following an interim order. Further, the entities involved in the proceedings will be required to submit their financial statements.
