On 8 June 2024, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) adopted measures following a special campaign aimed at clarifying and optimising the corporate network environment by addressing information violations related to corporations. In particular, the campaign supported website platforms in managing corporate-related online information and dealing with law-breaking companies in compliance with legal and contractual obligations. Several typical cases have been publicly disclosed, involving accounts that spread false information, maliciously slandered corporate images, distorted public information for illegal gains, and exaggerated facts to defame companies and their founders. The offending accounts have been legally closed, and responsible entities have been blacklisted.
