Introduction of FedRAMP Authorization Act aiming to enhance cloud computing in government

The FedRAMP Authorization Act is introduced, aiming to enhance the innovation, security, and availability of cloud computing products and services used in the Federal Government. In particular, the Act establishes the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) to introduce a management and authorization monitoring process for cloud computing products and services used by the Federal Government. According to the Act, the General Services Administration Director shall determine the cloud products and services that require a FedRAMP authorization to be used by the Federal Government. Concurrently, the Director shall appoint the "Joint Authorization Board", which consists of cloud computing experts that decide on whether concede the FedRAMP authorization.
