Opened PDPC investigation into PPLingo Pte Ltd for alleged breach of data protection measures

On 8 May 2022, the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) opened an investigation into PPLingo Pte Ltd for an alleged breach of data protection measures. This followed a notification of a data breach incident involving unauthorised access to personal data on PPLingo’s online education platform. The PDPC initiated the investigation to determine PPLingo’s compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) in relation to the incident.
