Adopted Global Online Safety Regulators Network position statement on regulatory coherence and coordination

On 24 May 2024, the Global Online Safety Regulators Network adopted a position statement on regulatory coherence and coordination. The network aims to improve online protection against child sexual abuse, sextortion scams and deepfakes through international coordination on regulations and enforcement. The statement includes four main collaboration areas. In particular, the parties will coordinate on regulatory tools such as risk assessments and transparency reporting and share information to identify trends in user complaints. Furthermore, the parties agreed to request the industry to reduce the compliance burden in a coordinated manner and exchange good practices for safety measures.
