On 18 December 2023, the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) initiated an investigation into Motorsport Network following a complaint filed on 22 May 2023 alleging that the website enforced a “pay or okay” cookie consent scheme. The complainant alleged that the website required users to either accept cookies for free access or subscribe for a fee to use the website without cookies.
