Australia: Adopted Declaration on Commitments to Address Severe AI Risks

On 22 May 2024, during the AI Seoul Summit, 27 nations committed to addressing severe AI risks. The countries agreed to develop shared thresholds for AI risks, including the potential misuse of AI in building biological and chemical weapons and AI's ability to evade human oversight. The parties will work with AI companies, civil society, and academia to develop proposals for discussion at the upcoming AI Action Summit in France.
