Signed Seoul Statement of Intent toward International Cooperation on AI Safety Science

On 21 May 2024, Australia, Canada, the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Singapore, the United States of America and the United Kingdom signed the Seoul Statement of Intent toward International Cooperation on AI Safety Science. The statement builds on previous discussions from the 2023 artificial intelligence (AI) Safety Summit. In particular, the parties agreed to adopt policies to support AI Safety Institutes, promote international scientific cooperation, and aligning policies through shared understandings and reports such as the International AI Safety Report. The parties intend to share resources and data, enhance research methodologies, and develop international standards to support the safe and equitable AI development globally.
