Signed Seoul Declaration for safe, innovative and inclusive AI

On 21 May 2024, Australia, Canada, the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Singapore, the United States of America and the United Kingdom agreed to establish an international network of artificial intelligence (AI) Safety Institutes to increase cooperation on AI safety and signed the Seoul declaration and statement of intent on AI Safety. The declaration, announced at the AI Seoul Summit, aims to promote safe, secure, and trustworthy AI development, addressing global challenges and the protection of human rights. In particular, the declaration commits nations to work together on AI safety science, sharing information about AI models, risks, and safety incidents. Moreover, the network will collaborate on research, standards, and testing, ensuring the safe design, development, and deployment of AI.
