Description

Closed MIC investigation following Netflix's compliance with the order to cease the distribution of unauthorised games

On 20 May 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) announced that Netflix had ceased the advertisement and publishing of unlicensed games after the MIC order of 10 April 2024. The MIC demanded that Netflix discontinue the advertising and distribution of unauthorised online video games in the Vietnamese market by 25 April 2024. The order was issued after the MIC determined that Netflix has been offering unlicensed video games to Vietnamese users through its application and on both the App Store Vietnam and Google Play Store Vietnam, in violation of Article 31, Decree 72/2013/ND-CP governing internet services and online information.
