On 23 April 2024, the Bill amending the Act CVIII of 2001 on certain issues of electronic commerce services and information society services was introduced in the Hungarian Parliament. The Bill includes fair advertising requirements. Specifically, the proposal mandates that product placement within content directed at children under the age of fourteen is prohibited on video-sharing platforms. Additionally, advertisements disseminated via application service providers and video-sharing platforms must unambiguously disclose their promotional nature.
