On 7 May 2024, the Bill regulating Artificial Intelligence systems (Nr. 16821-19), including cyber security requirements, was introduced to the Chamber of Deputies of Chile. The Bill introduces a risk-based approach and emphasises the importance of developing and using AI systems within a common ethical framework, addressing significant risks that could violate ethical and legal values both nationally and internationally. The Bill would introduce cyber security requirements and regulations specifically for high-risk AI systems to ensure the security and resilience of the systems.
