Notably, the principles of design, development, use and decommissioning of AI systems include privacy and personal data protection. In addition, the framework includes the obligation to assess and mitigate risks and adverse impacts arising from AI systems. The framework was adopted in Strasbourg by the 46 member states, the European Union, and 11 non-member states, along with representatives from the private sector, civil society, and academia.
