Description

Announced Viagogo's commitment to improve terms and consumer information following Commission and EU consumer authorities inquiries

On 16 May 2024, the European Commission announced that Viagogo has committed to improving consumer information regarding ticket resale conditions and discontinuing excessive countdown messages. Following a dialogue initiated by the Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) Network in April 2021, Viagogo has agreed to implement various changes on its website directed at EU/EEA consumers by August 2024. These changes include clarifying ticket ranking in search results, reducing countdown messages, and informing consumers whether ticket sellers are traders or individuals. Crucially, this ensures consumers understand their rights under EU consumer protection rules. Additionally, Viagogo will enable consumers to select exact seat numbers, include delivery fees in displayed prices, and revise certain terms and conditions clauses.
