United Kingdom: Closed consultation on ICO inquiry into engineering individual rights into generative AI models

On 10 June 2024, the United Kingdom's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) closes its inquiry into the engineering of individual rights within the lifecycle of generative artificial intelligence (AI) models. The inquiry seeks information on how AI developers and deployers ensure compliance with data protection laws, specifically concerning personal data rights such as being informed, accessing data, deleting it, and restricting its use. In addition, the inquiry aims to gather information on effective practices that organisations are employing to meet these legal obligations.
