Spain: Closed CNMC public consultation in inquiry into cloud services

On 21 June 2024, the National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC) closes the public consultation on its inquiry into cloud services. The CNMC is conducting an inquiry into cloud services with the objective of examining factors that may impact the efficient and competitive operation of this sector. The motivation for the inquiry lies in the role cloud services play in the digital transformation process and in enhancing business competitiveness, as they enable the remote processing, storage, and management of data. The purpose of the public consultation is to engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders involved in this domain to gather information regarding the operations of the cloud services sector which will be used as the basis for making recommendations to improve the competitive environment.
