Description

Published GCBPR Accountability Agent Application

On 30 April 2024, the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules (GCBPR) Forum published a document outlining the process for organisations to become recognised as accountability agents. These agents are empowered to certify companies as compliant with Global CBPR and Global PRP standards. The document details the criteria and process for recognition as an accountability agent. For an applicant to be considered to be suitable as an accountability agent, they must explain how they are subject to enforcement by a privacy enforcement authority of a member of the GCBPR Forum, how each of the accountability agent recognition criteria has been met using a designated checklist, and they must agree to make use of the GCBPR/GPRP System Intake Questionnaire to assess an applicant's compliance with the GCBPR/GPRP System Program Requirement Map.
