Announced PIPC Guidelines for Using Public Personal Information in AI Development and Services
On 2 May 2024, the South Korean Personal Information Protection Committee (PIPC) announced that it was in the process of drawing up the Guidelines for Using Public Personal Information in AI Development and Services. The Guidelines aim to establish standards for safely processing disclosed, openly available personal data, which is crucial for AI learning. The PIPC plans to finalise the guidelines in May after considering input from experts and ministries.
