On 26 April 2024, a Bill on Artificial Intelligence (PL 1465/2024) was introduced to the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. The Act outlines several rights for individuals that are directly or indirectly affected by AI systems. In particular, the Act lists these rights in Article 5, which includes the right to information, the right to explanation, the right to contestation, the right to human determination and participation, and the principle of non-discrimination and bias correction. Article 6 includes pre-contractual information rights, such as automated decision-making disclosure, requiring informing data subjects about the automated nature of decisions in processes or products that affect them.
