United States of America: Passed Connecticut Act Concerning Artificial Intelligence (SB 2) including AI Authority Governance

On 24 April 2024, the Act Concerning Artificial Intelligence (SB 2) was passed by the Senate of Connecticut. The Bill would establish an Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council tasked with engaging stakeholders and experts to make recommendations concerning the ethical and equitable use of AI in state government and assess the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy's Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights. Furthermore, the Council would have the power to issue recommendations concerning the regulation of the use of AI in the private sector and the adoption of a Connecticut artificial intelligence Bill of Rights.
