China: Established Korea-China Internet Cooperation Center

On 18 April 2024, the Personal Information Protection Committee of the Republic of Korea, in collaboration with the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA), opened the Korea-China Internet Cooperation Center that has been operating as an informal Chinese office of KISA since 2012 and was approved of the Chinese government in December 2023. The Korea-China Internet Cooperation Center was established to provide guidance on data protection rules and coordinate their enforcement.
