Council of Ministers of Italy adopted Decree-law n.123 on safety of minors in the digital environment designating Authority for Communications Guarantees as digital services coordinator under Digital Service Act

On 15 September 2023, the Decree-law n.123 on safety of minors in the digital environment was adopted by the Italian government. The decree designates the Authority for Communications Guarantees (AGCOM) as the digital services coordinator under the Digital Service Act. Furthermore, the decree designates the Competition and Market Authority and the Personal Data Protection Authority as competent national authorities that will have to collaborate with the AGCOM. The decree enters into force on 15 November 2023.
