Italy: Implemented Decree n. 41 on provisions regarding the reorganisation of the gaming sector including consumer protection regulation

On 4 April 2024, the Decree n. 41 on provisions regarding the reorganisation of the gaming sector entered into force. The decree aims to safeguard players by introducing technical and regulatory measures. These include reducing betting and winning limits and mandating continuous training for managers and operators. The decree also mandates the certification of gaming devices and prohibits betting on amateur sports competitions for minors. Furthermore, the decree includes measures to address gambling addiction, prevent underage gambling, combat illegal gambling, and ensure transparency and probity in gaming operations.
