Republic of Korea: Announced PIPC Pseudonymisation System

On 1 April 2024, the Korean Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC), in collaboration with related organisations, announced the development of a pseudonymisation system. The system aims to utilise pseudonymised information to support socio-economic problem-solving through the secure use of data. The initiative offers a comprehensive support system for research and development projects, providing free consultation on topics ranging from dataset security to data combination. It addresses a broad audience, from academia to private business associations, and encourages submissions by 30 April 2024 through the Pseudonym Information Support Platform.
