Closed investigation into proposed acquisition of Delivery Hero's operations by Grab Holdings

On 1 April 2024, the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) announced the closure of the investigation into the intended acquisition by Grab Holdings Inc. of the business of Delivery Hero SE, including its Foodpanda services in Singapore. This decision was made following the announcement that the transaction would no longer proceed. Furthermore, the Interim Measures Directions ceased to be in effect from 23 February 2024. The CCCS stated that it would continue to monitor market practices and take necessary action to protect the market against mergers or acquisitions that may substantially lessen competition in Singapore.
