Description

Introduced Federal Law Regulating Artificial Intelligence including authorisation requirement for AI systems

On 28 February 2024, the Federal Law Regulating Artificial Intelligence, including authorisation requirements for artificial intelligence (AI) systems, was introduced to the Senate of Mexico. The law would require developers or providers of AI systems to obtain prior authorisation from the competent authority before commercialising their systems in the national territory. The requirement would apply even if the AI system is offered for free, and the application for authorisation would have to include technical documentation and additional information as specified in the provisions of this Law.
