Introduced Federal Law Regulating Artificial Intelligence, including AI authority governance

On 28 February 2024, the Federal Law Regulating Artificial Intelligence, including AI authority governance, was introduced to the Senate of Mexico. The proposed law aims to establish a legal framework to regulate the development, deployment and use of Artificial Intelligence systems (AI) in the country. The law would designate the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) as the competent authority on AI matters and establish the National Commission on Artificial Intelligence as an advisory body to the IFT.
