United States of America: Concluded case against DK Automation concerning deceptive marketing practices following completion of the terms of the settlement

Description

Concluded case against DK Automation concerning deceptive marketing practices following completion of the terms of the settlement

On 28 March 2024, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced USD 2.8 million in refunds to consumers harmed by DK Automation's deceptive online business and cryptocurrency money-making schemes. The lawsuit focused on the company's unfounded claims of substantial returns through Amazon and Walmart business packages, business coaching, and cryptocurrency investments. In November 2022, the FTC filed a complaint against the defendants for allegedly falsely promising "passive income on autopilot" to consumers despite the fact that very few profited from these ventures. DK Automation and its owners have agreed to provide funds for consumer refunds and to cease their deceptive marketing practices. The FTC is processing these refunds through PayPal to 890 affected consumers, emphasising that recipients must claim their payments within 30 days.
