On 22 March 2024, the Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DES) announced the launch of an investigation into an online gambling website. The Ministry of DES, in coordination with Internet Service Providers (ISPs), has taken measures to temporarily block the relevant website and is seeking a court order to permanently restrict access to them. The DES stated that despite existing court orders, some gambling websites remain accessible, prompting the Ministry to instruct relevant agencies to enforce compliance among ISPs. From 1 October 2022 to 5 March 2023, the DES stated that it had blocked 25’571 online gambling sites.
