Spain: Issued National Court ruling requiring temporary suspension of Telegram due to violation of intellectual property rights

On 22 March 2024, the National Court of Spain issued a ruling directing telecommunication and internet access operators to temporarily suspend Telegram due to violation of intellectual property rights. The case was brought before the court by Mediaset, Atresmedia, Movistar, and Egeda, alleging that Telegram was distributing copyrighted content generated by them without authorisation.
